Semitech Innovations Pty Ltd was established in 1997 and created a world-class semiconductor design centre in Melbourne, Australia. The primary focus of the company has been developing Digital Integrated Circuit products. Semitech operates in a fabless environment, meaning there is no manufacturing of chips within the company as this is outsourced.
Since 2000, the company has been working on developing its own powerline communication products (Stalon and SIMAC). Now Semitech Innovations is a leading provider of powerline communication technology for AMR, Home Automation and Industrial Automation applications.
Until May 2006, Semitech Innovation traded under the name Semiconductor Technologies Australia Pty Ltd. The Directors have decided that in view of the global activities of the company, and the branding of the established application centres now operating in several countries, an international brand was more appropriate for the Company.
In addition to developing its own products for market, Semitech provides a range of design and development services. Primarily targeted at the business to business marketplace, the skills and technologies are equally applicable to various other industry sectors within Australia and in territories where Application Centres are established. These services are also a valuable adjunct to assisting Companies integrating Semitech products into their own products and services.
Experience in the IC design field allows development services to be provided in conjunction with other business or software developers to deliver a complete design and integration service not currently offered by competitors.
The majority of the Semitech team as well as the product development and integration activity is conducted from the Semitech Development offices in Melbourne.
