SIMAC™
The SIMAC-6401 and SIMAC-1001 are the latest Power Line Communication (PLC) integrated System-on-a-chip (SoC) products from Semitech Innovations. SIMAC integrates an ultra reliable and robust narrow band power line transceiver with two 32bit microcontollers for both network communication management and user application process. The onboard 64KBytes memory making them the most cost effective and versatile PLC products for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Home Automation (HA) applications
Embedded with SIMAC technology and the most advanced DSP techniques to enhance the signal to noise ratio, SIMAC-XX01 provides ultra-reliable communication even in the noisiest power line networks. The power line is a dynamic environment and the SIMAC-XX01 gives you the control you require to dominate your environment. The technology also includes dual channel, dual modulation, robust error checking and dynamic band selection to ensure reliable data transmission.

- User Selectable Modulation
- SIMAC allows the user to switch modulation schemes between FSK and BPSK. This functionality is provided on the secondary band.

- SIMAC can operate on two different carrier frequencies simultaneously.
- Versatility
- The SIMAC-xx01 chip has embedded flash and supports 128Kbytes external memory. It can be programmed for many uses with the power line as a communication medium. AMR and Home Automation are the best examples.
- High performance
- To produce enhanced performance, users have the option of selecting dual channel transmission and receiving, selectable BPSK and FSK modulation, various carrier frequencies, forward error correction, EIA709.2 Protocol, CENELEC Access Protocol, data encryption and various transmitter output voltages. These advanced options ensure the transceiver operates reliably in a noisy power line environment whilst also having the ability to conform to local regulations.
- Open Standard
- SIMAC-XX01 utilizes 2 32-bit processors to process application code and network traffic. Its embedded protocol conforms to ANSI/EIA 709.1 and ANSI/EIA 709.2.
- Security
- SIMAC-XX01 comes with Triple DES encryption to ensure the security of you customer’s data.
- Extended voltage scope
- The SIMAC system can carry signals on low voltage powerlines from 110 Volts to 240 Volts and on medium voltage powerlines to 12,000 Volts. SIMAC system can also carry signals on twisted pair.
- Single chip solution
- SIMAC-XX01 is a highly integrated System-on-a-chip (SoC) product. It combines a powerful Power Line Transceiver and control networking protocol firmware into a single chip. The SoC solution greatly reduces customer’s system cost.
