- AMI
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure. Metering system that has extended capability to measure or implement demand response, tamper detection, remote disconnect, profiling and other functionality beyond AMR.
- AMR
- Automatic Meter Reading. Automatically collecting data from energy meters and transferring the data to a central database for billing and data analysis.
- CENELEC
- The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation
- Channel
- A single communications path provided by a tranmission medium.
- EIA
- Electronics Industries Alliance
- Idempotent
- A operation, or sequence of operations, that when applied multiple times, yield the same result
